On May 12, 2017, there will be an exclusive preview concert of the Japanese-Dutch historical opera 'Dejima - Siebold’s Love'.
The story of this opera is based on the fascinating and dramatic history of the German physician Phillip Franz Von Siebold (1796-1866) who lived and worked for six years on the former Dutch trade post, Dejima, in Nagasaki, Japan.
The true history contains all the dramatic elements for an opera: adventure, courage, betrayal and a heartbreaking impossible love…
Although the final full-staged version of 'Dejima - Siebold’s Love' will be premiered at a later stage, now there is this exclusive concert with one hour of highlight music from this opera. For this special occasion, the music is arranged for a small ensemble of Japanese and Dutch musicians. This concert will present a blend of traditional Japanese and Western music in an intense and intimate setting.

Dejima, Siebold's Love, preview
