Nihon Buyo (traditional Japanese dance) is a Japanese performing art in which important elements of Japan’s traditional culture, such as beauty, simplicity, space and light, come to life on stage.
Nihon Buyo, or ‘Japanese Dance’, is derived from an ancient dance form that was handed down through the centuries. It is recognized as a traditional performing art, together with the known arts of Noh,
Kabuki and Bunraku. In March 2012 a dance troop, composed especially for this occasion by the Nihon Buyo Foundation, will come to the Netherlands. They will be led by Mr. Senzo Nishikawa who is a Living National Treasure of Japan, a title given only to very few persons.
